Flossing bares her teeth on the industrial pop take-down “Men On The Menu”

Heather Elle has returned with her first new piece of music as Flossing since last year’s Queen of the Mall EP, “Men On The Menu”. She’s also come out as queer saying:

“I’m finally detangling myself from the compulsive hetero regime that’s fooled me, failed me, and f*cked me.”

That dissatisfied tone continues into “Men On The Menu”, where she unloads a list of male actions that piss her off; trying to be Sonic Youth, having beer breath, expecting praise when it’s unwarranted among several others. These words are supported by Flossing’s usual industrial pop sounds, but they glide more fluidly, the bass line and sax solo even encouraging you to dance along to her ritualistic ruminations on the “Men On The Menu”. It’s a damn good time – except if you happen to be one of those kinds of men she’s aiming at, then you might find yourself in a bit of trouble.
