Todd Dedman’s 2020 Round-up

2020, eh? Blimey.

The year we all broke our never-to-be-beaten-again personal records for time gained from skipping intros on our favourite shows on our preferred streaming service.

The year we all realised just how much we miss standing next to strangers and rolling our eyes in a manner that feels purposeful but not intrusive and certainly not directed at them as they talk in an inappropriate moment in a gig.

The year we all realised that we took for granted the most beautiful gift of life – communal experience through vibrations of frequencies in the air channelled to us (you probably call it music).

The year when the fragility of what we are was front and centre in so many people’s lives.

So thank the maker for music. Some will have you believe that 2020 was a disappointing year for music releases. Well, dip into my playlist of tracks from the year’s best albums and go reconsider those opinions.

Oh, and one final thing – ranking art in numerical order is horrible and problematic and blah blah blah but we are where we are, so…..
