WOOZE make their lustful desires clear on the rampaging “Witch Slap (IOU)”, reveal new EP details

London-based pop-provocateurs WOOZE have returned with their first new material since their 2019 breakthrough what’s on your mind? The new track is called “Witch Slap (IOU)” and heralds a new EP called Get Me To A Nunnery, which will arrive this Autumn. On the new track, they say:

“This is probably the fastest song we have written so far, done in about 20 minutes after we had finished demoing another song in the early morning. Lyrically it is a sadomasochistic take on a classic love song stemming from the simple pun on bitch slap.”

That quickness of writing translates to a direct and in-your-face pop song that also incorporates plenty of their live energy with an almost-industrial feel. Crisp beats underpin big and grinding guitars, while the duo’s vocals jump around playfully as they make their desires and demands clear. Switching voices and tone with each new line, WOOZE present a personality that’s at once lascivious, intimidating and downright weird, all while providing an infectious blast off forward-thinking pop music.
