WOOZE are bristling with jealousy on the effervescent “Tu Es Moi”

London-based pun-loving duo WOOZE recently shared “Witch Slap (IOU)” and announced their new EP, and today they give us another dose of what’s to come with new single “Tu Es Moi”. They say:

“Another pun-based fun chasing song that riffs off the French ambiguity between the phrases ‘you are me’ and ‘kill me’. It’s written from the perspective of a jealous, ambitious, and most probably adolescent rival.”

That energy of envy is ripe throughout “Tu Es Moi”, which features big, galavanting guitars and a steadily popping pulse. The duo bring their 80s sheen through melodic additions and bold production choices, making the song really pop and adding extra smirk-inducing pettiness to the jealousy on display. There’s also a dream-pop feeling to the song, especially as they ramp up to the chant along chorus of “Tu es moi” (or perhaps (“tue-moi” is in fact more appropriate here). This is the icing on the cake and ready to be shouted along to by many excited fans when they get to see the band later this year.
