Punk rock trio Radkey — consisting of brothers Dee, Isaiah, and Solomon Radke — burned through SXSW this year, resulting in a feature in The New York Times’ ArtsBeat section and scores of people paying attention to these young rockers. Â Having cut their teeth playing in their hometown of St. Joseph, MO, the band then started playing shows in Kansas City, where they gained a larger, more dedicated fanbase. Â In the lead-up to the release of their debut EP, Cat & Mouse (out now via Wreckroom Records), the three brothers crisscrossed the US and Europe at a number of festivals and solo shows.
Now, the band has released the video for the title track to their EP. Â “Cat & Mouse” is a searing chug of punk squall, with forceful vocals and jackhammer percussion riding along side Dee’s streaks of colossal riffage. Â The video, directed by Damien Paris, finds the band trying to shatter eardrums and blow amps in a small studio. Â Reminiscent of 70’s punk progenitors Death, Radkey are showing what can be accomplished by brothers with a communal love of music and just a guitar, a bass, and a set of drums. Â Watch the ferocious video for “Cat & Mouse” below. Â And also make sure to check out their upcoming tour dates below the video.
