Philip Jeck, Raime, and others added to Semibreve 2013 schedule

Semibreve

On November 15-17, Braga, Portugal will find itself playing host to the Semibreve Music Festival at the Theatro Circo. Already confirmed are Forest Swords, The Haxan Cloak, Atom TM, and Rafael Toral’s Space Collective 5, but we’ve just learned that Philip Jeck + Lol Sargent, Raime, Helm, Sculpture, and Janek Schaefer have all been added to the festival’s continually expanding schedule.

Jeck will team up with Lol Sargent (with whom he composed one of his most famous works, “Vinyl Requiem”) to host a world premiere of the recreation of the piece for its 20th anniversary. Helm – aka Luke Younger – will share his dense and abstract soundscapes, which incorporate musique concrete, industrial, and hallucinatory drones. Listen to some of Younger’s work below.

The enigmatic London-based duo Raime will work through their own shadowy electronic aesthetic onstage, while mutant dance floors beats and distorted visuals will be supplied courtesy of Sculpture. Check out a video of Sculpture’s work below.
