Listen: Superhumanoids – “Bad Weather”

Superhumanoids

Los Angeles dream pop trio Superhumanoids make music steeped in the traditions of artists like Cocteau Twins and Kate Bush but inject a modern chromatic pop sensibility that immediately sets them apart from their hazy pop peers.  They are set to release their debut record Exhibitionists on August 6th via Innovative Leisure.  The band recently released the lead single, “Bad Weather,” from the album, and by incorporating the tendencies of their musical antecedents–as well as a modern pop predilection–they’ve managed to say something relevant, both about the state of creative influence and gauzy pop composition.  Singer Sarah Chernoff’s breathy vocals glide beneath the subdued synths, shimmering guitar notes, and insistent percussion in an effortless waltz of musical exchange.  Check out the dream pop and minimalist R&B-tinged track below.
