My two favorite ballad singers are both in England: Sienna Spiro in London and Grete Eitmantyte in Manchester. The latter has a moving new song called โsee u moreโ where she wrote the elegant arrangement for a string quartet and piano.
โI wrote โsee u moreโ shortly after losing my grandma,โ says Grete. โIt was one of those cases when youโre in bed, almost asleep, and everything at once comes into your head. So I grabbed my phone and started writing the lyrics.โ
When Grete isnโt performing haunting ballads, sheโs writing uptempo dance bangers in the style of Tove Lo and The Weeknd. If she ever plays the Royal Albert Hall in London, sheโll have to book two evenings: one for majestic ballads, one for dance grooves.
