Enigmatic producer and Manchester-native Andy Stott has set his hand to reworking “Valentine,” — a track from electronic veteran Tricky’s recent album, False Idols, featuring vocals from singer Francesca Belmonte. With both artists living and breathing dark soundscapes and broken beat rhythms, the track feels less like a remix and more a reimagining of what Tricky probably had in mind to begin with. Stott’s remix will be made available via Tricky’s False Idols label on limited edition splatter-print 12” vinyl. It will be offered exclusively through Boomkat on September 16th and everywhere else on September 30th.
Tricky has also announced plans to do some touring later this fall. You can check out his North American itinerary below the stream.
