2011 has been a relatively quiet year for singer Janelle Monae, especially considering the mammoth year 2010 was for her. And, it appears that Monae will go for broke in 2012, planning to release two albums as well as make her mark with some hefty touring.
Talking to Back To Rockville in her hometown of Kansas City, Monae (in addition helping in a Christmas tree lighting ceremony) revealed “I am eager to get back to the studio and work on finishing my album. I stopped touring so I could finish the album. Actually, I plan on releasing two albums next year.”
Monae elaborated by saying “84.799 percent of the writing is done for the new records. I will release them according to my soul clock, but I will try to stick the scheduled release dates, which I know but can’t say.” Oh, if only the whole world ran by Monae’s “soul clock” and not regular time.
As far as touring, Monae says that she already has a tour lined up with a giant artist who will play “3 nights at Staples center.” Not sure who that is yet, but we’ll keep you posted when we find out.
