FAKE: Daft Punk Plan New Album, Hidden Tour

Someone out there on the internet is working extra hard to bum out the people of Shanghai. Someone is a dick.

According to a mysterious Facebook page, the mysterious French house duo Daft Punk will spend the weekend after they won two Grammys playing a secret show for a few lucky folks in Shanghai. But Daft Punk’s PR has assured us that the announcement isn’t real and that Daft Punk will not be playing Shanghai on Friday night. Or any shows anywhere for the time being. So if you paid actual money for a Daft Punk ticket, it’s time to start looking for someone to whoop.

After 3 years of silence and many months of preparation, Thomas & Guy-Man are working on the studio release of their latest album. In particular, the duo have directed a video illustrating the title “Obama”, a remix of “Aerodynamic”, in which the name of the newest President is presented by a pronunciation software.
This latest album will be released along with an Asian Tour of 4 dates starting in Shanghai on the 13th of February 2009.
The concept of this tour is directed exclusively by the limited number of proposed seats.
On a known date, the concert will take place in a secret location which will be revealed to participants just a few hours before the concert, adding the unique Thomas & Guy-Man touch for 2009.
