That Bradford Cox just doesn’t know how to take time off, does he? Not that I’m complaining, since his work as both Atlas Sound and Deerhunter has provided some incredible music in the past four years. This year’s Halcyon Digest under the Deehunter moniker is sure to find its way onto plenty of year end lists.
But Cox is equally known for his growing b-side, demo, and covers collections. Last year’s digital 7″ series was spectacular, and he’s back at it this winter, with the release of his Bedroom Databank collections. At this time there are only two releases, but it wouldn’t surprise anybody if that number continues to grow. He’s offering both Volume I and II for free on his website right now, and I’d highly suggest grabbing both. I have always been more of a fan of Cox’s small scale releases and bedroom outtake than his LPs, and Bedroom Databank is no exception.
