Big Thief have released the second single from their upcoming album Double Infinity; “All Night All Day” follows last month’s “Incomprehensible”.
Vocalist Adrianne Lenker has never shyed away from the grislier and more co-dependent aspects of infatuation, which she returns to on “All Night All Day”, but here it is framed in a more wholesome and fulfilling way. “All night all day I could go down on you, / hear you sing your pleasure,” she begins explicitly, before moving onto the more metaphorical “Swallow poison, swallow sugar / sometimes they taste the same / Buy I know your love is neither.” Buoyed by shimmering synthesizers and buoyant bass, the track is a glistening dream of idealistic love and the need for give and take in a committed romance.
