Will Wiesenfield aka Baths has announced his first album in seven years, Gut, which will be out on 21 February through Basement’s Basement. He has also shared the lead single “Sea of Men”, saying:
“I find myself thinking about how confusingly animal I often feel—present in body but dissociative in spirit. Instinctual. An entire life where appetite comes first and ‘carnal is a normal mode,’ leaving little room to discover anything new about myself while constantly scavenging for the next gratification.”
Those instinctual urges are all over “Sea of Men”, but so is Baths’ creative production, resulting in one of the most fun and sexually explicit tracks of recent memory. The result is slightly unhinged, but in all the right ways – and a more than welcome reminder of just what we’ve been missing from the beloved artist all these years he’s been away.
The video for “Sea of Men” is self directed, check it out below or find the track on streamers.
