Next month sees the inaugural LIDO Festival take place in London’s Victoria Park, and Beats Per Minute will be along for the ride. The five nights, spread over two weekends, will see an eclectic mix of acts ranging from pop, house, hip-hop, to post-hardcore and punk. It’s a festival that covers an array of styles, takes a degree of justified risk with some acts playing their biggest UK shows to date, and has allowed the headliners of each night a say in the curation of the acts lower down the bill.
Night 1: 6 June
Bristol’s legendary Massive Attack headline the first night on Friday 6th June and are joined by Air, Yasiin Bey and the Alchemist are Forensics, and Tirzah. With more acts still to be announced, there’s an introspection to the night that many festivals would likely be wary of – and this is cause for celebration. There will also no doubt be plenty of talk in the crowd about whether Robert Del Naja is Banksy when anybody with any inside knowledge knows it’s Rob Gunningham.
BPM pick: Tirzah
Night 2: 7 June
Jamie xx brings his THE FLOOR residency into the open air, with supporting acts including Arca, Sampha, Shy One, and Panda Bear. During the day, Jamie xx is lined up to perform back-to-back DJ sets with Skrillex and Nia Archives before taking to the main stage.
BPM pick: Shy One
Night 3: 13 June
Manchester’s Outbreak Festival comes to the capital on Friday 13th June with a packed line-up of post-hardcore, rap and punk including Turnstile’s only UK show of 2025. The absolutely stacked bill also includes Glassjaw, Sunny Day Real Estate, Danny Brown and beatsperminute.com favourites Model/Actriz.
BPM pick: Knocked Loose
Night 4: 14 June
After her triumphant ‘should have been the headliner’ set at Coachella, Charli XCX brings her party girl festival to London alongside the magnificent Kelly Lee Owens, Gesaffelstein, and The Dare on the 14th. After being recently crowned Songwriter of the Year for her work that reconfigured the pop cultural landscape, there’s plenty to celebrate on what’s bound to be a euphoric day.
BPM pick: Kelly Lee Owens
Night 5: 15 June
LIDO closes with the serene London Grammar on Sunday 15th with a line-up that also includes Celeste, The Blessed Madonna, and Clementine Douglas. In support of last year’s album The Greatest Love, the show sees Hannah Reid, Dot Major and Dan Rothman headline their biggest UK show to date.
BPM pick: Pip Millet
