Lucy Gaffney’s “Send Me Away” delivers a moment of autumnal calm

It has been (and still is) a busy year for all of us, and during these times the right song at the right time can soothe like the most healing of balms. “Send Me Away” by Lucy Gaffney is such a balm, arriving at the perfect moment to help alleviate any stresses and let you glide into any relaxation plans.

Carrying forward the weightless feeling of previous single “Can’t Escape”, the new track from the Belfast-born/Liverpool-based singer finds a perfect motorik groove and wraps it up in a light ragged fuzz and a simple hook. A dreamy exploration of “the idea of love, getting lost in intoxicating moments and the electric excitement of the unknown“, “Send Me Away” fills the air like autumn sunshine through orange and yellow leaves on trees; there’s a chill, but it drapes you in a cosiness too. This is an autumnal balm: a reminder that the seasons are changing and life is still happening, but also that it is worth taking a moment to pause and breathe.

“Send Me Away” is out now on Frictionless Music. You can find Lucy Gaffney on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
