Kanye to Taylor: I’m sorry

There’s been no lack of Kanye West in music news lately, be it his sudden and overwhelming bearhug embrace of Twitter, his outpouring of both rough and studio quality MP3’s in advance his upcoming album, My Dark Twisted Fantasy, as well as his announced LP with Jay-Z, Watch The Throne. As to his own Twitter habits, we’ve seen at least one fumbling exchange so far, in which he appeared to engage in a dismissive back and forth with Justin Beiber, only to follow it up a few days later with a mash-up collaboration between himself, Beiber, and Raekwon.

Kanye ratcheted things up a notch this morning as to his use of Twitter when he went on an hour-long discourse involving more than 50 tweets, recounting his much-reported, maligned and debated interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMA’s a year ago, all which culminated with the following tweet:

I’m sorry Taylor.

Yeezy had several things to say on the topic, most of them of the self-examing variety. He used the episode to declare that Swift deserved an apology more than anyone else, but that management and media had gotten in the way of a proper reconciliation. He also revealed that he’d written “a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful” and that if she declined to accept it, he would personally perform it for her.

What do you think, is Kanye coming to terms with issues and slaying some demons, or is this a publicity stunt on the way to a new album? Read the whole thing on Twitter, starting with this tweet.
