Finnish experimental duo Amnesia Scanner recently announced their second album Tearless is due to drop on June 5, and following the tribal “Going” they’ve today shared the title track.
“AS Tearless” begins with what sounds like robots singing with gleeful nihilism, while atmospherics screech and whirr all around. Soon guest vocalist Lalita hops in to smooth things over with rich chanting that manages to still be alluring even when coiled between cold production and doom-laden synths. Her voice is warped and retextured as it comes in connection with Amnesia Scanner’s machinic crooner vocalist Oracle, and together they flutter over this beautifully hellish soundscape, which continues to bang and bounce in completely indescribable ways.
