Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds will return with a new album this year, entitled For Now I Am Winter. It’ll get it’s release via Mercury Classics on April 2nd, and if you preorder before February 18th (and live in the US or Canada) then you can have your name appear in the album liner notes in a physical package along with receiving additional fan items. (For those elsewhere in the world who are missing out, they’ll benefit from a earlier release, on February 25th.) For Now I Am Winter will also mark a change in proceedings for Arnalds as not only will he have Nico Muhly contributing some compositions, he’ll also have some vocals provided by Icelandic singer Arnór Dan. Have yourself a listen to the new track “This Place Was Shelter” below (via Drowned in Sound), which features effervescent electronic effects and dramatic string work.
