Yesterday Mike Hadreas aka Perfume Genius visited WNYU in New York and performed a live solo session to air some new material from his stunning upcoming album Put Your Back N 2 It. Unlike Learning not all of the songs on the new album are based around piano, and in this little session you get an idea of the different kinds of styles he’s going for as he changes the sound effect on his keyboard. It’s only a glimpse at the big picture, which you will get when Put Your Back N 2 It is released through Matador on February 21st.
The songs played are “Hood,” “17,” “Take Me Home” and the album’s digital bonus track “Katie.”
