Legendary singer-songwriter and poet Gil Scott-Heron passed away on Friday, May 27th. He was 62. Heron had recently returned to the spotlight after a 16-year absence with his critically acclaimed 2010 album, I’m New Here and 2011’s We’re New Here, a remix record helmed by Jamie Smith of The XX. Heron’s influence on the music world and beyond reached far throughout the decades. His passing, without a doubt, will be felt by many.
