Of the many things that Coldplay is good at (getting chicks, making money, looking handsome, etc…), one thing they are rarely accused of is excess creativity. So fans might be concerned when they hear that the British group is calling their new record a concept album. But rest easy, the most exciting thing about the album’s concept is the action of calling it a concept album.
Coldplay dreamboat Chris Martin told the BBC that the upcoming release is “a concept album but it’s supposed to be very personal within a big framework…It’s from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost…Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.”
While this leaves room for aliens and intergalactic planetary warfare, it’s looking unlikely. Probably for the better. (Via NME)
