On May 15th, Violens will release a brand new album, titled True, on Slumberland Records. Fans of the band have been waiting for this announcement for a while, Violens kept up a virtual songwriting diary on their website, posting musical sketches as part of a continuous dialogue with their fans. This kind of openness will remain throughout the album’s release, as Violens will be premiering a song from True each month leading up to the release of the LP.
The first track we have to share from the effort is “Unfolding Black Wings,” which the band describes as sounding like Sonic Youth and we find to be a pretty apt comparison. Download the tune below and stay tuned for more samplings from True in the near future.
