Los Campesinos! announce first album in 7 years with the cathartic “Feast of Tongues”

Boisterous British cult favourites Los Campesinos! will release a new album called All Hell on 19 July through their own label Heart Swells. Listing the topics covered by the album, they say:

“drinking for fun and drinking for misery // adult acne // adult
friendship // football // death and dying // love and sex // late-stage
capitalism // Orpheus // day dreaming // night terrors // the heart as an
organ and as a burden // suburban boredom // Tears of the Kingdom //
the punks on the playlist // increments of time // climate apocalypse // the moon the moon the moon ///

So, much the same as ever – which is exactly what we want from Los Campesinos! The first single to be shared is “Feast Of Tongues” a gradually stirring barn burner that finds their iconic singer Gareth in a fit of bloody misery. He is by turns whimsical (“I want the trust of every animal”) and violent (“we will feast on the tongues of the last bootlickers”) but is moreover petulantly poetic in his own signature way; “Keep a list of what ails me, tare to the elderly skeleton inside my frame”. Welcome back LC!, it’s been too long.
