Watch: Die Antwoord star in Harmony Korine’s new short film

The news suprised us all: Ninja and Yo Landie are not only members of the South African rap group Die Antwoord, but are also the stars of Harmony Korine’s new short film, Umshini Wam (which translates to ‘bring me my machine gun’). It’s a flick about wheelchair-riding gangstas smoking weed and shooting machine guns in what can only be described as bold colored full body PJs. The film premiered Tuesday at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.

“I got stuck someplace filming something really ridiculous,” said Korine, introducing his movie at the premier, adding “we made this across 15 countries, it took us a couple of years and a few million dollars, but in the end it was all worth it.” Harmony Korine has past directed movies such as Gummo, Kids, and Julian Lonely Boy.

The short is now available via movieline, or you can just, you know, check it out below.
