Today officially sees the release of Alex Turner’s soundtrack EP to Richard Ayoade’s film Submarine. The release is Turner’s first solo effort and is unsurprisingly lovely. The highlight is closer “Piledriver Waltz” which also appears on the upcoming Arctic Monkeys record, but it may or may not be the same version, that is as yet unclear.
The official video for “Piledriver Waltz” has been released and features the two leads of Submarine, Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige fooling around in character all shot in a grainy, retro style.
Submarine is out not on Domino.
