Lateef the Truth Speaker is an Oakland Born MC who was raised by the Black Panther Party, but that only touches on his interesting personal life. However, we’re here to talk about his music. In the past Lateef has been a member of rap groups Latyrx and The Maroons, and he also founded the Solesides collective, which is now known as Quannum Projects.
Lateef is bringing out his debut solo LP on November 8th through Quannum Projects. It’s entitled FireWire and features he the likes of Del Tha Funky Homosapien, Dan The Automator, DJ Shadow and Lyrics Born. You can hear the first single from the album, “Testimony,” below.
