StrateJacket ride the high on “Be My Drug”

Northern California punky alt-rock trio StrateJacket have released their new single โ€œBe My Drugโ€ ahead of their debut album release later this year. Formed in 2019, StrateJacketโ€™s Jackson Roemers (lead vocals/guitar), Fabian Angel (vocals/bass) and Nate Mangold (drums) used a guerilla approach to gigging: driving all over San Francisco to play under bridges, on beaches, and in warehouses. This earned them a devoted fanbase in the process, and caught the attention of EDGEOUT Records, who signed them in 2021.

The forthcoming album was recorded at Vancouver’s Armory Studios with the Juno/BMI-winning Canadian producer/songwriter Brian Howes (Hinder, Skillet, Boys Like Girls). Grammy Award-winning Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Muse, Prince) mixed the album.

The band shares, โ€œBe My Drugโ€ is about similarities between what being in love and being on drugs can feel like and the song. They aimed to โ€œcapture the [highs and lows/push and pull] feeling of those two things together. Itโ€™s a theme I look forward to exploring more in the future.โ€ย ย ย
