For those following Poliça’s rise – this writer has been transfixed since catching them live – it’s a great day. Some have criticized the band for their developing sound, but the complaints are misguided: they’re shooting down a band not even a year removed from their debut. They have room to expand on ideas already more intriguing than many band’s manage their entire careers. From the press release:
“POLIÇA are thrilled to announce their signing to Mom + Pop Music, who are set to re-release Give You The Ghost on August 14th. In addition to re-delivering the full-length, the band will be releasing a “Dark Star” remix EP featuring Gardens & Villa and Exitmusic, as well as a new edit of the single ‘Dark Star.’ The remix EP will be available digitally and bundled with all CD copies of the re-release, both out August 14th.”
