Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner shares new song from Flock of Dimes side-project, also shares Wye Oak tour dates

The lead singer of indie-pop band Wye Oak, Jenn Wasner, has been releasing a few songs sporadically in the past year from her side-project Flock of Dimes. She founded this band back in 2011 as a creative outlet for the more experimental music she was making that wouldn’t fit on a Wye Oak record.

On September 25th, Merge Records will release the second in a series of 7″ singles from the band. On this release, the A-side “Curtains” pairs up with “Apparition” as its B-side. According to Wasner, “These two songs function as a pair of opposites: ‘Curtain’ documents the thoughtless, obsessed joy of new love, whereas ‘Apparition’ attempts to catch sight of the ghosts it leaves behind in the wake of its absence.” Listen to “Curtains” below and check out some of her principle band Wye Oak’s upcoming tour dates below the player.
