When Mister Heavenly teased their upcoming album by describing it as “doom wop,” I don’t think anyone really expected the barn-storming doomy-ness of “Bronx Sniper,” track one off their debut album. To say that things get heavy is an understatement, but even more noteworthy is the way vocalists Nick Thorburn and Honus Honus (of Islands and Man Man, respectively) are able to share the microphone without seeming too much like a duet. There is something natural to this collaboration, and this should excite you for the August 16th release of Out Of Love on Sub Pop.
