Moor Mother takes no prisoners on “RAP JASM” alongside Akai Solo and justmadnice

Moor Mother announced her new album Jazz Codes just a week ago, but with its release arriving in little over two weeks she’s pumping out the pre-album singles. We’ve already heard “Woody Shaw” and now we get “RAP JASM”, which sees her team up with Akai Solo and justmadnice.

“RAP JASM” constrasts spaced-out and oozing production with some of Moor Mother’s most cutting bars – quite literally as she mentions “oh you wanna see the guillotine remove the heads of the defending team / blood the only colour that’s been supreme” and doesn’t let up with the harsh imagery from there. Philly singer justmadnice cools things off a little with some velveteen tones, but Akai Solo ramps up the heat again with his impressive verse that encompasses a history of societal frictions.

Check out “RAP JASM” below or find it on your preferred streamer.

Moor Mother’s new album Jazz Codes comes out on July 1 through Anti- (pre-order/save). You can find her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
