The Men are set to put out their second release of the year; following on from their fantastic fourth album New Moon they have a new 5-song EP entitled Campfire Songs ready to be released on October 15th through Sacred Bones.
New Moon was recorded in rural upstate New York, and the songs for this new EP were recorded at the same time, though, as the title Campfire Songs suggests, these were done outside the studio and around the titular fire. As such, these songs are more stripped down than what we’ve heard from them previously. In fact, two of the songs on the EP are acoustic versions of songs from New Moon: “The Seeds” and “I Saw Her Face.” The other three songs are an acoustic version of the b-side “Water Babies” and two new songs “Patience” and “Turn Your Color.”
