Later this month, Shearwater will release a compilation of covers tracks called Fellow Travellers, following 2012’s Animal Joy. Sub Pop will release the record on November 25th/26th, and included on the tracklisting is takes on Coldplay, St. Vincent, and Wye Oak tracks. Also on the agenda is a cover of Xiu Xiu’s masterpiece “I Luv the Valley OH!!,” which the band have given its own video. Directed by Branan Edgens, the clip follows two stranded astronauts as they wander through a desert-like terrain. The cover itself turns the original into a fully fleshed out rock affair, with drums that sound huge and guitars that bleeds an anthemic feel as opposed to Jamie Stewart’s despair-ridden crunch.
