Macie Stewart finds reprieve on chamber folk stunner “Maya, Please”

After releasing impressive solo debut Mouth Full Of Glass last year, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Macie Stewart (Ohmme) adds a brand new cut “Maya, Please” for the record’s UK release via Full Time Hobby, which will be available November 11. Co-presented with homegrown Chicago-based label Orindal Records, “Maya, Please” fits right in with the wandering spirit of Stewart’s chamber folk, juxtaposing delicate fingerpicking and charming string arrangements.

Stewart on “Maya, Please”: “This song moves in and out of internal and external experience, all revolving around forgiveness. It is a conversation being had inside yourself asking for forgiveness, and ultimately finding the ability to forgive yourself. I wrote the strings at home and recorded them at Fox Hall with Dorian Gehring.”

The video, directed and hand drawn by Izzy Vasquez, acts like a psychedelic dream sequence depicting some recurrent imagery on Mouth Full Of Glass. Watch it below.
