Laurel Halo enchants through the misty and gorgeous “Atlas”

Los Angeles-based artist Laurel Halo is releasing a new album called Atlas next month, and following on from the airing of lead single “Belleville” with Coby Sey, she has now shared the title track.

Like the previous single, “Atlas” is a slowly drifting, ever-evolving ambient piece that centres around Laurel’s spare, distant piano playing. However this time it is obscured by mists of synth that sway and linger, never diffusing – instead, they mingle with the textures around it until you’re not sure where one ends and the next begins. Shot through this glorious melange is a curtain of silvery strings; a trail of angel dust tempting us deeper into the pillow-soft unknown.

Listen to “Atlas” below or find it on streamers.

Laurel Halo’s new album Atlas arrives on September 22 through her own imprint, Awe (pre-order/save). You can find her on Instagram and Twitter.
