King Krule guides us through aqueous dreams on “Seaforth”, announces new album

Archie Marshall aka King Krule will release a new album called Space Heavy on June 9 through XL. It’s previewed today by lead single “Seaforth”.

Dialling down the murkiness and expanding the dreaminess of previous King Krule efforts, “Seaforth” is a dreampop dive into Marshall’s dreams of sea, sand and the world falling apart. His demeanour remains laid back as he surfs the waves of his mind, drifting past images both peaceful and upsetting, coming to the conclusion “my faith is all I have”. Despite the worries still amassing at the edges, “Seaforth” is the most peaceful we’ve heard from King Krule – it’s practically beach music, especially with the sounds of waves and seagulls arriving at the tail end. Good thing the album arrives in the summer.
