Last we heard from Colombian-American star Kali Uchis she was letting in on what she’d been up to during quarantine with her TO FEEL ALIVE EP. Today she shares new track “Aquí Yo Mando”, the first taste of her forthcoming second album, which will be her mainly in Spanish.
The new track finds her teaming up with D.C. rapper Rico Nasty for a confident and impactful pop-R&B jam. “Aquí Yo Mando” translates to ‘here I command’, and even if your Spanish isn’t good enough to catch everything they’re singing and rapping about, there is absolutely now doubt that they are indeed in full command here. The pair are brash and bold, working in tandem around a bass-heavy beat, adding trilling ad-libs and curating an undeniable boss vibe from beginning to end.
