Joy Division/New Order manager’s notebooks to be published

On October 7th, former Joy Division and New order manger Rob Grett will have his note books published. The book will be called ‘1 Top Class Manager’ and was compiled by Gretts widow Lesley Gilbert. The book focuses on the notes he took while managing both bands, including his time spent with Ian Curtis – former lead singer of Joy Division.

The compilation consists of notes taken from 20 notebooks that were written between 1978 and 1980. Some of the highlights include Gretts description of the pranks Joy Division played on supporting acts, and the alternate names they were considering using for the band after Ian Curtis’s death. This year will mark 9 years since Rob Gretts passed away.

The book will be available to pre-order from 8 September 2008.
