Nashville-based artist Jay Putty has truly been through an emotional wringer in recent years. He aspired to be a pro athlete, but a serious injury derailed that dream. He survived a devastating house fire in his teens and recently lost his father and a close friend to cancer.
Despite all that, Puttyโs new single โStart Of Something Newโ is a triumphant story of resilience that features a high-flying, joyous chorus. Itโs definitely a pop song, but thereโs a hint of avant-country thanks to its banjo track.
โLife isnโt all sunshine and rainbows,โ says Putty. โItโs okay to be positive while also acknowledging lifeโs challenges. You canโt appreciate a rainbow without getting rained on first.โ
On the bright side, Puttyโs previous single โOn My Wayโ was a hit on SiriusXMโs The Pulse. This is one artist who deserves some blue skies in 2025.
