In advance of a shared tour in July, Iron & Wine and I’m With Her have released a new collaborative single called “Robin’s Egg”. Featuring the gorgeous three-part harmonies of Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins, the track is a joyous acoustic rambler, a rumination on the details surrounding love and the mysterious revelations of affection. Sam Beam’s voice is a gently rolling stream, a natural calmative for dire times. Sometimes it best to let the current carry you out of the world for a few minutes — “Robin’s Egg” offers that welcome diversion.
“I had the start of ‘Robin’s Egg’ kicking around and began finishing the tune earlier this year with I’m With Her in mind,” explains Beam. “We had already started to plan our summer tour together; I passed it to them with the hope they were up for adding their voices to it and lucky for me they were! I’m looking forward to performing it, and a few other surprises, with them this summer.“
