Anything either Polo G or Gunna touch is bound to be something of an event in itself, so the two linking up? No small affair. It’s for a unique reason, as well, as their new collaboration, “Waves”, serves as the latest single for a compilation from none other than Los Angeles Clippers’ All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard.
The project is titled Culture Jam, and is sure to be an all-star event befitting its curator, who worked alongside music exec Eesean Bolden. It’s no pointless affair: a slice of the proceeds are set to go to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
As for the song itself, Polo G is always set with a snappy verse, blunt and poignant by turns, while, however critical this writer has been of him, Gunna can certainly provide a serviceable jam when he puts his mind to it.
