Deerhunter, one of the world’s most consistent and prolific bands will return in just 6 weeks with a new album entitled Monomania. The album is coming out through 4AD on May 7th.
The band have been hard at work on the album in Brooklyn in January and February of this year, following the winding down of the latest cycles of side-project work from Lockett Pundt with Lotus Plaza and Bradford Cox with Atlas Sound.
The band are now seemingly rush-releasing the album as they are evidently excited about it, and so should we be. Some early chatter about the record came through Cole of the Black Lips’ twitter who said that Deerhunter were making “the most punk record of the past 30 years. Prepare to be alienated.”
