Cherry Glazerr launch the dark and destructive “Soft Like A Flower”, announce new album

Cherry Glazerr have revealed that they will release a new album called I Don’t Want You Anymore on September 29 through Secretly Canadian. The band’s leader Clem Creevey said:

“I wanted this album to be just heart and soul. Completely exposed. It’s also a little bit about loving the anguish and toxicity that comes with being ruined by another person. Letting go and submitting to them but then catching yourself becoming too much like them.”

If those are the themes of the record, then “Soft Life A Flower” is certainly emblematic, as it finds Creevey in way over her head in a destructive relationship, admitting “I watch you sleep / pulling teeth / Don’t know what’s real” while her guitar prowls around. In the years since Cherry Glazerr’s last album, 2019’s Stuffed and Ready, the band released a few loosies that showed a more electronic influence, but “Soft Like A Flower” returns them to the titanic rock that built their fanbase, especially in the epic chorus where she admits “I like you killing me” as her guitar blasts into the stratospher. It’s an “Evanescence moment” according to Creevey; “It’s a real ‘losing your fucking shit’ kind of vibe.” “Soft Like A Flower” is another undeniable anthem to add to Cherry Glazerr’s arsenal, and fans will be salivating at the thought of hearing it live.
