BeatKing has made a career out of being under sung. He may not be shit to you, but in the club (not to mention Texas), he’s a god.
He’s also notoriously fond of reappropriating yesterday’s classic anthems with souped-up beats, and his latest is another win in just that category. Taking the skeleton of Ludacris‘ 2003 club classic, “Pussy Poppin”, BeatKing has delivered the song a second life, with the track’s clearly excited originator along for the ride himself. Indeed, Luda is himself on a tear this week, presumably stepping out to ramp up promotion for his as-of-yet-untitled, long-awaited tenth studio album, appearing not only here but on Conway the Machine’s new LP, La Maquina.
