Anie Delgado is a Cuban-American alt-pop artist who now lives in LA. Her new single โWithout Youโ took shape from a cathartic entry in her journal: โI wish I could hate you like I hate me.โ
Delgado says, โIt was a realization that I give others far more grace than I ever give myself, especially people who hurt me. That thought sat with me. I wanted to explore that struggle for autonomy in my music and from there โWithout Youโ was born.โ
On the new single, she enlisted the help of producer Olivier Bassil (Mary J. Blige, Don Toliver). Delgado describes the finished song as โthe bridge between a sleepless night of overthinking and the chaotic, feral energy of the night out that follows.โ
