After five years, The Like to release new album Release Me

Five years ago, L.A. band The Like released released an album called Are You Thinking What I’m Thinking?, played Coachella, then disappeared. Since 2009 the girls have resurfaced to tour with the Arctic Monkeys, and now, in 2010, the girls have removed one member and added two new ones to help create their new album called Release Me.

Their first album was (as they’ve admitted) a bit immature, but this one seems to have a little more promise to it: Mark Ronson is the producer. From what I’ve heard off the band’s Myspace – I would have to agree. The girl’s have jumped on the 1950s bandwagon (a la Noisettes, if you will) and managed to produce some pretty catchy tracks. The album is supposed to be released on June 15th, 2010 with Downtown Records and will be touring North America and the UK this summer.
