This one feels like it’s been a longtime coming. Q-Tip has finally signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music after a history of collaboration with its leader, including supporting work on his albums My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne.
That’s great news for fans of the Tribe MC, whose solo efforts have gone relatively unnoticed, despite their consistency. He plans to release his next album, tentatively titled The Last Zulu, early next year, and it’s sure to find wider recognition with Kanye’s team behind it.
Perhaps this means Q-Tip will appear on, or help with production duties, for the upcoming G.O.O.D. compilation. Beyond that, in a press release, it was announced that Tip’s working with Kendrick Lamar and none other than Fiona Apple. Now there’s something to perk all our interests.
