Over a decade on from their split, renowned Cincinnati-based rockers The Afghan Whigs have announced their reformation. Who has convinced them to do so? Well none other than the organisation that seems to specialise in bringing legendary alt-rock acts back from the dead, ATP.
Following Guided By Voices’ cancellation of their headline set at London’s ATP I’ll Be Your Mirror in May, ATP has swooped in and brought The Afghan Whigs back to life to headline the weekend, which will be their first live performance in 13 years. On top of this, the band has also been confirmed to be the curators and headliners of the second edition of ATP in Asbury Park, New Jersey, which takes place in September. Tickets for that event go on sale in January. You can sign up for more tickets and lineup info over here at the ATP website.
