Pure X have not shied away from examining the sexy in their music videos (i.e. the weird ribbon bondage scene in this clip for “Surface,”), but something else stikes me in this offering from the band’s under-heard debut album Pleasures: Pure X misses the NBA. Check out the Kevin Garnett references throughout the clip and try not to shed a tear for the fact that we should be beginning another overly-long sporting season right now. Or, maybe I’m just projecting. Either way, enjoy the video for Pure X’s “Surface” below, directed by Malcolm Elijah, and listen to Pleasures, out now on Acéphale Records.
